External validity matters here: how well the study’s findings generalize to your patient and real-world practice, versus internal validity, which tells you whether the study was conducted soundly. If the patient resembles the study population and your setting matches the conditions of the intervention, the evidence is more readily applicable; if not, you adapt the exercise or integrate additional evidence to fit the situation. Finally, consider safety, feasibility, and the patient’s preferences, and tailor the chosen exercise to the individual and your clinic. This approach avoids relying solely on statistics, disregarding context, or following clinician preference without appraisal.
